Community Guidelines
Last updated 28 October 2026
Rituals is for meeting people in person, through sport and wellness sessions led by a host. These guidelines apply at every session, in crew chats, in chats that open after a session, and anywhere else in the app.
The short version
- Be the person you are in your photos and profile.
- Treat everyone at a session with respect, whether or not you want to see them again.
- "No" is a full answer. When someone does not pick you, ends a connection or does not reply, leave it there.
- Keep payments in the app and keep people safe.
You must be 18 or older
Rituals is for adults only. Do not create an account if you are under 18, and do not bring anyone under 18 to a session as a guest of your seat. We remove accounts that belong to minors. Anything that sexualises or endangers children leads to an immediate ban and a report to the authorities: see our Child Safety Standards.
Be real
- One account per person, in your own name. No impersonation, no accounts made for someone else.
- Photos must show you, clearly, and nobody else as the main subject. No photos of children, no nudity, no photos you do not have the right to use.
- Do not try to pass the selfie check with someone else's face, a photo of a screen or an edited image.
- Do not create new accounts or use new phones to get around a suspension or ban.
Respect at sessions and in chats
- No harassment, threats, intimidation, stalking or bullying, in person or in messages.
- No hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or age.
- No unwanted sexual comments, advances or touching. Sexual content of any kind is not allowed in crew chats or in crew photos.
- Ask before you photograph or film someone, and do not share photos or chats of other people outside the app without their consent.
- Do not keep contacting someone who has ended a connection, blocked you or said no, including through other people or other apps.
- Follow the host's safety instructions. Do not come to a session under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and tell the host about anything that affects your safety or others'.
"More than friends" is optional and private
Some people use Rituals to meet a partner as well as friends. What you are looking for is on your profile unless you hide it, but a "more than friends" pick is private: the other person only learns about it when both of you choose it after the same session. Never pressure anyone about it, never ask someone at a session why they did or did not pick you, and never use a session to pursue someone who has not shown interest.
Money stays in the app
- Guests: pay for seats in the app when the session is paid in the app. Do not send money to anyone you met through Rituals because they asked you to.
- Hosts: do not ask guests to pay outside the app for a session listed as paid in the app, and do not use Rituals to recruit guests for off-app sessions.
- No spam, advertising, selling, multi-level marketing, fundraising or recruitment in chats.
Hosts
Hosts lead the session they listed, at the time and place they listed, and look after the group's safety. Business hosts must not pick or approach guests romantically through the app (individual hosts may pick at most one guest of their own session as more than friends, like any guest). No host may offer private sessions to guests outside the app, and every host must report any incident at a session to us. The Host Terms set out the rest.
Reporting and blocking
You can report a person from their profile, from any message in a chat, after a session, or from a crew photo. You can block anyone. Blocking is silent: you no longer see each other's profiles, the app stops you from booking the same sessions from then on, and if you already were both going to one, you can cancel your seat as if it were before the deadline. A host still sees everyone on their own guest list. If someone is in immediate danger, call the local emergency number (112 in the EU) first, then tell us. Tips for meeting people safely are on our Safety page.
We review reports as quickly as we can, usually within 24 hours, and faster when someone's safety is at risk. When we warn, suspend or ban someone, or remove their content after a review, we tell them what we did and why, unless doing so would put someone at risk. If a message or photo of yours was hidden automatically, you can ask us to review it.
What happens when the guidelines are broken
Depending on how serious it is and whether it has happened before, we may remove content, give a warning, suspend the account for a period, or ban the account (and, where needed, the phone it was used on). Some things lead to an immediate ban: threats of violence, sexual misconduct, anything involving minors, scams and asking people for money, and returning after a ban.
If we suspend or ban your account, you can appeal from the screen in the app or by writing to hello@rituals.team. A different person from the one who made the decision reviews the appeal, and we decide within 30 days.
